Inspiration

I always seem to lose a lot of links. I have a personal discord server where I paste stuff in, but the search is bad and it has a lot of issues. Stashcord solves this problem and adds extra tools to assist me in research, writing, and creative tasks.

In an internet dominated with slop, curation and preserving quality work is increasingly important. Stashcord uses AI as a tool for humans, not a replacement for meaningful work.

What it does

Saving a link, article, image, or note is as easy as pasting it into the text box and pressing enter. Once you paste something in, Stashcord automatically gives the link proper tags (e.g. #research, #economics, #art) so you can easily find it later using the fast and powerful search tool. Even if you don't quite remember what you are looking for, you can describe it in the chat and Stashcord will find it for you.

Stashcord also helps researchers and creatives with the Resurface feature. While discussing an issue with Claude, Stashcord will automatically suggest related entries that you might have forgotten you even saved! This might be a study that was unexpectedly relevant, or a cool quote that perfectly fits what you've been trying to write.

How we built it

I used NextJS for the front end, Convex for the backend, and Claude to write it all :).

Challenges we ran into

Perfectly crafting the AI assistant and Resurface feature was difficult to fine-tune, but I think we struck a good balance. Also, making sure the app was very performant and lightning fast across all devices was a challenge in optimizing our code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Stashcord's AI integration is super nice and is the right amount of helpful while not being too in-your-face
Resurface helps you find things you forgot you even saved
The search is excellent and I can find stuff even with vague descriptions
Integration with social media platforms such as Twitter, YouTube
We made a really awesome product that I am excited to use myself :)

What we learned

Doing fast search across a lot of entries is not trivial! People have put tons of hours into optimizing this and making it fast.
Claude Design is really excellent for making nice-looking UIs
