Inspiration

The inspiration for this project was very personal. A lot of my friends and colleagues, all with brilliant ideas, kept reaching out to me for help validating their concepts with real data. At the same time, I was trying to validate my own startup idea and felt the exact same pain—I wanted to get early feedback to avoid making common rookie mistakes. The process was manual, slow, and expensive.

This got me started. I realized there was a massive, unmet need for a tool that could provide instant, data-driven validation for anyone with an idea. I built this platform first to scratch my own itch, but also to empower other founders, innovators, and creators who are in the same boat. My goal is to replace guesswork with strategy and give every great idea a fighting chance.

How It's Built

I architected this platform by integrating best-in-class no-code, low-code, and API-driven services.

  • No-Code Frontend: The entire user interface was built visually on Bolt.new, a no-code platform. This allowed for rapid development of a polished, responsive, and user-friendly application without writing any frontend code.

  • Backend & Database: The backend is powered by Supabase. It handles the user database, stores research requests, and manages the final reports.

  • AI Orchestration & Core Logic: The heart of the platform is n8n.io, a workflow automation engine. When a user submits an idea, it triggers an n8n workflow that sequentially calls Google's Gemini Pro API with a series of carefully crafted prompts to build the final, structured report.

  • Monetization: Stripe is integrated to handle payments, with the plan to introduce premium, in-depth research reports in the future.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As a solo founder, we're incredibly proud of bringing a complex, AI-driven application to life by integrating a series of modern tools.

First, we successfully built a fully functional, end-to-end service that solves a real-world problem for aspiring entrepreneurs. We've already had friends use it and provide feedback, validating that it addresses a genuine pain point in the startup journey.

Second, the core AI orchestration is a significant achievement. We designed and implemented a complex, multi-step workflow in n8n that acts as an "AI research analyst," reliably generating a structured, in-depth report from a simple user prompt.

Finally, we're proud of the speed of development. By leveraging a hybrid stack—a no-code frontend, a low-code backend, and powerful APIs—we were able to build and launch this entire platform quickly, demonstrating the power of modern development tools.

What we learned

This project was a fantastic learning experience, pushing our skills in integration, AI, and product design.

  • The Power of the Hybrid Stack: We learned how to seamlessly integrate best-in-class tools—marrying a no-code frontend (Bolt.new) with a powerful low-code backend (Supabase) and a workflow engine (n8n). This approach is a superpower for solo founders, enabling rapid development without compromising on capability.

  • AI Orchestration is Key: Our background in AI was a starting point, but we learned that the true value comes from orchestration. Crafting the perfect sequence of prompts and logic to turn a generative AI into a predictable, analytical tool was the most challenging and rewarding part of the process.

  • Feedback Refines the Product: We learned that early feedback is invaluable. After showing our initial implementation to friends, their input was crucial in helping us fine-tune the report's structure and focus on making the data not just informative, but truly actionable.

What's next for Startup idea research

Our vision for this platform is just getting started. The next steps are focused on expanding the depth and quality of the research.

  • Add and Improve Reports: We plan to continuously enhance the existing market research report with more insightful sections, such as detailed funding analysis, go-to-market checklists, and risk assessments. We also aim to introduce new report types, like an automatically generated Lean Canvas or a Pitch Deck outline.

  • Add More Data Sources: To move beyond the static knowledge of an LLM, we will integrate real-time data APIs. This includes connecting to market data feeds, social media trend APIs, and company databases to provide insights that are more accurate, timely, and defensible.

  • Build a Community: We will introduce features that allow users to share their reports and get feedback from other founders and mentors, building a community of innovators who can help each other succeed.
