What it does

Startup HotrNot is a swipe-based platform connecting tech talent with startups

How we built it

~We build the backend with Mongo DB wrapped in FastAPI ~We built the client in React Native ~Our UX/UI was designed in Figma ~Our project was tracked with Trello ~We build our application using a lean Agile approach ~We ran one increment planning ceremony at the beginning of the day ~We used 2.5 hour sprints with stand ups and iterative planning at the end of the 2.5 hour sprint

Challenges we ran into

~Matching algorithm was complex and so descoped ~Expo development sharing on a tethered cell phone network impacted throughput ~Matching the design was a challenge in limited amount of time

Accomplishments that we're proud of

~Swipe look & feel ~Active db to react native connections ~We developed with a valid agile process including 3 stand ups and one overall sprint planning ceremony

What we learned

~12 hours is actually 10 is actually 7.5 ~It is challenging to maintain energy levels during intense development sprints ~Developer & Designer Collaboration techniques were learned ~PM/Scrum Coaching techniques for hackathon projects were learned
