Inspiration
Knowing friends that have dreams yet none of them can take the appropriate actions to get it into reality. home run
/ˈˌhōm ˈrən/ a fair hit that allows the batter to make a complete circuit of the bases without stopping and score a run.
What it does
You can log in using Github. Add tasks. Clear task list. Check or uncheck the checkbox for tasks. Reload without losing information.
How we built it
Built using React. Utilized local storage and firebase for the Github auth.
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out how to organize different components so that it can communicate and transfer data across all components. I didn't have time to set up redux (halfway through the process...) so it was hard to do state management and I now have a new appreciation for redux. Couldn't publish to heroku or github for the life of me :(
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Just having something functional as a to-do list! I will likely develop this further.
What we learned
Redux makes it so much easier than working with React 3 years ago. I'm glad someone figured it out for all of us.
What's next for HomeRun
I would like to make it look more beautiful and add a timeline or a percentage completion bar!
