Inspiration
As a beginner in hackathons, not getting a point to start in fear that using an internet template may account for cheating in hackathons made me retreat from several hackathons until I found that it's not just about the sources in use but the end minimal viable product that could demonstrate the idea is what matters the most.
What it does
This idea of providing some starting base that can be optionally included upon for any of the acceptable theme makes development efforts easier in the limited time and allows participants to openly work on improvements over the set base.
How we built it
Using open source and generic demonstrable components, supported by a variety of languages.
Challenges we may run into
Finding the equivalent sources for different languages, and ensuring not much differences between languages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Providing a good start and motivation to beginners.
What we learned
Templates are a great start, but not everyone may need one. So, having one is okay, but mandating it's usage may not be.
What's next for Starter Templates
Supporting uncommon languages too, and adding common sources that are usable across ideas and hackathons.
