Inspiration 💡

Growing up in Latin America, we witnessed firsthand how traditional banking systems exclude millions of families from financial services. The cultural practice of "tandas" (rotating savings groups) has been the backbone of family finances for generations, yet it remains offline and vulnerable to fraud. We were inspired to bridge this gap by combining the trust and community spirit of tandas with the transparency and security of blockchain technology. StarkPays was born from the vision of democratizing financial access while preserving cultural traditions that have sustained Latin American families for decades. 🇲🇽💪

What it does ⚡

StarkPays is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that revolutionizes family finances in Latin America using Starknet blockchain.

Our platform offers:

💸 Gasless Payments: Instant, zero-fee transactions powered by AVNU's gasless infrastructure 🤝 Digital Tandas: Collaborative savings groups with smart contracts ensuring transparency and trust 🏦 Family Vaults: Secure multi-signature wallets for family financial management 🤖 AI Fraud Protection: OpenAI-powered detection system that analyzes transaction patterns to prevent fraud 🎮 Gaming Integration: Gamified savings experiences to encourage financial literacy 🔒 Privacy Features: Zero-knowledge proofs for transaction privacy while maintaining compliance The PWA works like a native mobile app, eliminating barriers to access for users without smartphones or app stores. 📱✨

How we built it 🛠️

Frontend: Next.js 15 with TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Radix UI components Blockchain: Starknet smart contracts written in Cairo for payment processing and tanda management Authentication: Clerk for secure user management and wallet integration Payments: Chipi Pay integration for traditional payment methods and AVNU for gasless transactions AI: OpenAI API for fraud detection and smart routing PWA: Next-PWA for mobile app functionality Deployment: Vercel for production hosting
