Inspiration

I've always been fascinated by space and wanted to build something that helps people explore the cosmos in a simple, interactive way.

What it does

StarHop is a space-themed web app that lets users track the ISS in real-time, view NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day, discover stargazing spots, and check upcoming celestial events.

How I built it

I used React with Tailwind CSS for the UI, integrated public APIs like NASA and WhereTheISS.at, and focused on creating a smooth, immersive dark theme inspired by space aesthetics.

Challenges

Working with external APIs and syncing dynamic space data in a user-friendly layout was tricky, but it pushed me to learn better error handling and data flow in React.

What's next

I plan to add more features like lunar phases, AR sky map integration, and user-curated stargazing locations.
