What Inspired Us?

In this rapidly evolving world, we often forget to cherish the moment, unknowingly letting go of our defining moments. This is what motivated us to make a memory-collecting app design that would help people keep track of their memories. We chose the space theme as a reminder of the timeless and ephemeral moments in life that we forget to acknowledge.

What it does

Our app's purpose is to capture memories by letting the user choose between creating a memory, viewing memories, and viewing the event calendar. When creating a memory, the user has the option to upload a video, audio, text (journal), and music that reminds them of the moment. It also has the option to link with calendar services and music services for a smoother flow.

How we built it

We built our interactive app design using Figma.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into were handling the overlapping interactions and creating a customized background. As a beginner in Figma, we faced barriers such as limited experience with designing a mobile app. We were able to use this opportunity to connect and gain feedback from mentors about the visual appeal and make it more user-friendly(everything from text size to color scheme).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An accomplishment we are proud of is taking the idea and turning it into something that attracts a wide range of users, with its universally appealing theme and design that communicates timelessness. Another accomplishment we are proud of is getting all the elements to conform to a feasible and innovative design.

What we learned

We learned to use advanced features on Figma, learning more about design principles and customizing our design to best suit user interest.

What's next for StarGaze

The next step for StarGaze is to take the design and turn it into a functioning app that can extend this idea to handle more user data and add a feature where friends can collaborate, share their memories so users can reminisce together.
