In a world of loud notifications and permanent digital footprints, we've lost the art of whispering to ourselves. Stardust Athenaeum is the antidote. It’s not another productivity tool; it's a piece of soft tech, an interactive art piece born from the aesthetic crucible of two warring ideas: the solemn, gothic elegance of an ancient library and the raw, glitched-out chaos of a Y2K-era computer.

This is a space to embrace the ephemeral. It's a living grimoire built for the Varsity Hacks mission of "Breaking Barriers," by breaking the barrier between our inner thoughts and a safe, beautiful digital medium. It asks: what if your memories weren't data points to be mined, but stars in a galaxy only you could navigate?

  • ✨ Weave Your Fragments: Whisper a thought, a memory, a feeling—good or bad—into the console. Watch it instantly crystallize into a shimmering star, dated and released into the cosmos. Hover over any star to recall the memory it holds. This is the core of the experience: a simple, beautiful loop of expression and reflection.

  • 🔮 Project the Oracle: Feeling lost? Seek guidance. The Oracle projects a cryptic fragment of wisdom, designed not to give answers, but to provoke thought and offer a moment of unexpected perspective.

  • 🎭 Alter the Resonance: The Athenaeum has two souls. You can shift between them at will, changing the entire mood, color palette, and ambient glow of your sanctuary.

    • The Shadow Resonance (Default): A deep, introspective mood of violet and glowing cyan. It’s for quiet moments, deep thoughts, and finding beauty in melancholy.
    • The Atelier Resonance (Alternate): A passionate, artistic mood of crimson and antique gold. It’s for moments of creation, bold feelings, and dramatic inspiration.

  • 💾 Export Your Constellation: Your universe is yours alone, saved securely to your browser's localStorage. To give these fleeting thoughts a permanent home, you can export your entire archive as a beautifully formatted .txt file. The past is for reflection, not alteration—there is no import function.

  • Innovation & Impact: We're challenging the current tech landscape by creating a deliberately non-viral, anti-data-collection experience. This is a "Calm Tech" tool designed for mental well-being, using a unique aesthetic fusion (Y2K-Gothic) to make mindfulness feel cool and engaging, not like a chore. Its impact is personal and profound, offering a safe space in a loud world.

  • Technical Execution: Built with pure, efficient Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS and the p5.js library for a generative, buttery-smooth particle system. The state management via localStorage is robust, and the dual-theme "Resonance" system is implemented cleanly with CSS variables. The entire application is a single, self-contained file, demonstrating elegant and lean code that is fully responsive for both desktop and mobile.

  • Presentation & User Experience: The UI is minimal but atmospheric. Every element, from the pixelated fonts to the glowing borders, is designed to immerse the user. The core loop is intuitive: type, click, and watch the magic happen. The aesthetic is not just decoration; it's integral to the calming and creative experience.
