Inspiration

I'm a mom of an 11-year-old who is not very keen on doing chores and has a short attention span. Performing routine tasks is a struggle and I get tired of reminding her things she needs to do every day. I also keep forgetting things and often feel like a mom who is not good enough. I personally write everything down and have huge to-do lists for everything, so I thought of making one for my kid, but with a twist, every to-do item has a reward! Which also helps to give better justification to allowing screen time and other cool things.

What it does

Starday is a kids routine to-do list and calendar, paired with a convenient flow for parents to send quests for kids and grant rewards.

How I built it

Multiple rounds of agent coding, testing, trying this with my kid and with my friends' kids, more bugfixing, more agent coding and here it is.

Challenges we ran into

Agentic coding is not perfect and there were a ton of bugs. Luckily my kid is very attentive to details and she helped me to squeeze a lot of bugs out of the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We use it every day and it works, there's less nagging coming from my kid, she does all things from the list and asks for more quests to do. Magic!

What we learned

It is possible to build an app with just AI tools and RevenueCat for monetization. Wow, this was actually not that hard! Lots of other ideas to think about :slightly_smiling_face:

What's next for Starday: Kids Routine Calendar

Maybe to upgrade this to household calendar and add the real screen time unlock capability.
