🚀 Inspiration

During our everyday visits to shops, vendors, restaurants, and even hospitals, we noticed one thing in common: UPI QR codes were everywhere. While these QR codes made payments easy, they were a missed opportunity — they did only one job, when they could do so much more.

🛠️ What We Built

Star Viva was born to transform those ordinary UPI QR codes into powerful digital storefronts. With a single scan, customers can not only pay but also:

  • Leave a Google Review
  • Browse the business’s social media pages
  • Open WhatsApp for instant support
  • View the menu, brochure, or store link
  • Explore ongoing promotions or events

We built an easy-to-use platform for businesses of all sizes, with Free and Premium plans, customizable QR landing pages, and real-time analytics. We’ve already onboarded 100+ businesses during early testing, from tea shops to salons, and the results are remarkable.

⚠️ Challenges We Faced

  1. Convincing vendors to switch from static UPI QR codes to something new.
  2. Creating a no-code onboarding flow for non-technical users.
  3. Ensuring the QR loads fast, works offline, and supports both small vendors and large retailers.
  4. Balancing ads for free users while keeping the experience smooth.

📚 What We Learned

  • Simplicity wins. A tea stall owner doesn’t need tech jargon — they need results.
  • Businesses loved getting reviews and social followers via the same QR customers used to pay.
  • Micro-interactions like one-click WhatsApp chat drove major engagement.
  • Most businesses were willing to pay if the value was clear and instant.

🔮 What’s Next

We're working on:

  • A mobile app for instant QR code creation
  • AI-driven analytics to give businesses smart insights
  • Multi-language support to serve regional markets
  • Tourism and event-specific solutions with location-aware QR content
