⭐ STAR – Music Video (Pop / Asia Pop / K-Pop)

Inspiration

The concept behind STAR is to portray the journey of a female singer striving to reach the top. The MV captures her hard work, dedication, and eventual triumph, with scenes ranging from rehearsal rooms to a grand stage finale. I wanted to merge the emotional storytelling of a classic pop journey with the creative potential of AI-assisted music and video production.

What it does

STAR is an AI-assisted music video combining:

  • Video editing, lip-sync, and visual effects with CapCut (Pro)
  • Original lyrics crafted by me and iteratively refined with Google Cloud Gemini (Pro)
  • Character, scene, and costume design via Google Cloud Gemini Nanobanana (Pro)
  • Scene creation from images using Google Cloud Flow VEO (Pro)
  • Supplemental video generation and lip-sync with Kling AI (Pro)
  • AI-generated vocals using Suno AI (Pro)

The MV follows the singer through rehearsal, studio, and finally the grand stage. It highlights her growth and passion while blending fast-paced choreography, cinematic visuals, and emotional narrative.

How we built it

The workflow combined human creativity with AI tools to produce a cohesive MV:

  1. Lyrics and Music
  • Wrote the lyrics and melody structure.
  • Used Gemini to suggest refinements and alternative phrasing.
  • Vocals generated by Suno Pro, then manually curated for emotion, timing, and flow.
  1. Visual Design
  • Gemini Nanobanana designed the main character, her outfits, and sets.
  • VEO transformed static images into animated scenes.
  • Kling AI Pro supplemented videos and assisted with lip-syncing.
  • CapCut handled main editing, effects, and final synchronization with music.
  1. Integration & Iteration
  • Aligned visuals with the song’s beat and story progression.
  • Iteratively adjusted AI outputs to maintain style consistency and narrative flow.

Challenges we ran into

  • Lyric & Song Refinement: Generating lyrics that fit the melody and emotional tone required multiple iterations with AI guidance.

  • Scene & Story Design: AI models are not specifically trained for multi-scene MV generation. Designing coherent sequences demanded significant imagination and planning.

  • Budget & Plan Limitations: Using Pro plans with limited points restricted resolution and the number of iterations. This caused minor imperfections: blurred faces, misaligned lip-sync, or slightly inconsistent elements between repeated scenes.

  • Consistency: Ensuring the same outfit or accessories appeared identically across scenes was challenging due to budget and model version constraints.

Despite these limitations, each challenge was addressed creatively to produce a cohesive and emotionally resonant MV.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully created a high-quality AI-assisted MV that looks remarkably human-like, despite limited budget and lower-tier AI plans.
  • Integrated multiple AI tools to produce vocals, choreography, and visuals in a cohesive, polished MV.
  • The final MV communicates the story of hard work, perseverance, and triumph, while staying visually and musically engaging.
  • Achieved a project that satisfies personal creative vision and has potential to resonate with audiences.

What we learned

  • AI can act as a creative collaborator, but human direction remains critical for coherence, emotion, and story.
  • Budget and tool limitations force creative problem-solving and prioritization of elements.
  • Even with lower-tier plans, careful iteration and curation can yield results that rival high-tier outputs.
  • Consistent visual storytelling requires planning beyond AI’s current capabilities, emphasizing the importance of manual guidance.
