STAR-EX - V2 - CROSS-CRAFTING
This project is the continous development of this winning project alongside with new feature improvement, the previous submission will be retained publicly as proof of our progress.
Inspiration
STAR-EX addresses the fundamental challenges of traditional GameFi, where games traditionally rely on single blockchain networks, limiting interoperability, limiting community integration, accessibility across different devices, as well as rely on a single EFFECTS.
This setup not only hampers gameplay innovation but also restricts the broader integration of blockchain technologies in diverse gaming environments, to know more how done it, our gamebook provide the detail of our idea to utilise cross-chain as game.
The dynamic interaction not only enhances community engagement but also encourages exploration and learning across diverse blockchain ecosystems.
What it does
STAR-EX is a cross-gameplay, cross-chain, cross-platform, cross-dimensional game that fosters collaboration between popular blockchains and smaller blockchain, helping the latter to interact with the former. The game also serves as an AIRDROP gateway for supported networks.
The main theme of this gameplay is racing and exploration, with intriguing RPG elements to ensure better sustainability. Players will explore various terrains such as space, planets, underwater realms, dungeons, and even fifth-dimensional environments like the matrix. All of these terrains also result in different effects ( CARTOON, GHIBLI, ANIME, REALISTIC, PIXELS, VOXELS, and many more soon )

Everything here is an NFT from HUD, ability, spaceship, zones, to music-pack. They're all NFTs . So during exploration, players can acquire numerous NFTs Assets and face multiple challenges depending on the tier of terrain they encounter or craft. Yes, players can craft new starships, gates, and abilities using not only NFTs from STAR-EX but also from other NFTs submitted for airdrop.
This creates a new level of marketing system that effectively reaches active targets, as the game can gather additional information such as geographical location for distribution purposes. Consequently, this will attract a mass AIRDROP from numerous networks to STAR-EX.
There are complex scenarios where starships can be destroyed (NFTs burnt), leading to increased resources for the planet they failed to explore. Thus, STAR-EX provides simulation and another gameplay focusing on racing to enhance players' maneuvering skills.
Additionally, there is an IDLE gameplay where we use staking-pool as feature to sustain the interaction and players can enjoy idle games and receive rewards and NFT easily.
Since it offers so many chains, there's FACTION (top tier blockchain) to control the resources, the minor blockchain will act as support to win the WAR-ZONE. We plan to do it with around 32 total blockchains on the 1st league. This also push the community to find the nft in other dimensions and interact with other blockchain in the marketplace or in the game. There's at least 7 Business plan since STAR-EX is a hybrid gameFi, and crafting NFT will be the most crucial to make this more sustainable.

How we built it
During HACKATHON, our focus is on developing a new feature as cross-crafting solutions to enrich cross-asset gamification and also transaction. Because each dimension has its own NFTs, and there's many NFTs combination player can try to explore.
We also designed the cross-crafting system to be open-source and easily adaptable for use by other projects or games. By eliminating the need for developers to create similar systems from scratch, especially across protocols like Substrate<>EVM, we simplify integration without the usual complexities associated with cross-protocol implementations.
So other project can just use our cross-crafting system which operates similarly to swapping or bridging protocols but tailored specifically for gaming and gamification.
This strategic direction aims to broaden the utility of NFTs across various projects, providing players with opportunities to enhance or multiply the rarity of their assets through our crafting system. By promoting a spirit of mystery, exploration and discovery, we aim to make life within the blockchain ecosystem more engaging and enjoyable.
Furthermore, our approach also fosters COLLABORATION between different projects even without IN THE SAME BLOCKCHAIN NETWORK and making NFT ecosystem becoming more interesting. This game also use AI:
- YUKA AI for bot trajectory
- Stable Diffusion for a generative art skybox
Challenges we ran into
During the development process, I encountered challenges similar when I was building bridging or atomic swap protocols, particularly concerning interoperability complexities. Each step required to switch between blockchain networks and finalize ready NFTs, including approval processes, posed significant hurdles.
To mitigate these challenges, I initially opted to simplify the system by removing the need to adjust tier balances for crafting results and required components, instead focusing on STAR-EX NFTs result by randomizing it and validating the prototype concept.
Additionally, the system currently lacks certain features such as quantity, detail and external NFTs involvement. Although, STAR-EX game already supports diverse frameworks beyond EVM, including cairo, substrate chains, and cosmwasm contract. For the initial release, we are prioritizing deployment on the EVM platform.
Especially, maintaining aggregator contracts across multiple blockchain networks could present ongoing complexities if not managed effectively. Our next priority is to optimize user experience, ensuring that NFT projects can easily engage in crafting activities. This involves devising intuitive processes that simplify the startup phase for users across different networks.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have updated with a newly UIUX with more animation and sfx.
