Inspiration
StampUp was inspired by our own experience as women students and travelers.
We are ambitious and motivated, yet we often found ourselves starting goals with excitement and then quietly stopping — not because we didn’t care, but because we felt overwhelmed, unsure where to continue, or emotionally drained. Most productivity tools assume users need pressure and discipline, but what we needed was clarity, kindness, and guidance.
StampUp was created to support people who want to grow but need a gentle system that helps them start, pause, and restart without guilt.
What it does
StampUp is a motivation and habit-building app that helps users complete tasks through guided steps, visual rewards, and emotional support. Users can:
- Follow guided daily quests when they don’t know where to start
- Create their own tasks when they already have a plan
- Earn collectible stamps for completed actions (all stamps are generated uniquely based on the task)
- Track progress
- Get encouragement through a supportive AI companion
- Share achievements and stay accountable with friends
- The app adapts to the user’s mental state instead of forcing rigid productivity systems.
How we built it
StampUp is built using:
- Flutter for cross-platform mobile development
- Firebase for authentication, Firestore database, and cloud storage
- RevenueCat for subscription management and monetization
- Gemini AI for the motivation companion experience
- Custom UI and animation systems for a calm, friendly design
We focused on clean architecture, modular components, and scalable backend logic.
Challenges we ran into
- Designing motivation features
- Balancing structure and freedom for very different user needs
- Managing state and real-time updates in social features
- Handling App Store requirements, iOS builds, and deployment issues
- Ensuring AI responses felt sincere, supportive, and safe Each challenge pushed us to refine both the product and the experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Building a fully functional, end-to-end app in a short time
- Creating an emotionally supportive AI experience, not just a chatbot
- Designing a system that works whether users need guidance or autonomy
- Implementing monetization without blocking core functionality
- Maintaining a consistent, soft, and welcoming design language
Most importantly, we built something we genuinely want to use ourselves.
What we learned

- Small wins matter more than long streaks
- Productivity tools should adapt to people — not the other way around
- Clear UX decisions matter just as much as technical execution
- Thoughtful monetization builds trust instead of resistance
What's next for StampUp
Next, we plan to:
- Improve onboarding and adaptive guidance
- Add smarter recovery flows for missed days
- Enhance AI memory and personalization (opt-in)
- Expand stamp collections and visual rewards
- Introduce deeper reflection and progress insights
- Grow community features while keeping the experience calm and safe
- Upload the app to both App Store and Google Play StampUp’s goal is to make motivation sustainable — especially for people who care deeply but sometimes feel stuck.
