Inspiration
The inspiration for Stakescription comes from how young folk are interested in Web3 features, always looking forward to investing, and in their free time - not watching, but binging on a series of episodes, movies, or seasons of a show!
Wouldn't it be cool if you could invest your token, and let it gain interest? And later use that interest to pay for the subscription service?
What it does
Stakescriptions lets you subscribe to a service after you stake your tokens. The tokens will be transferred to a pool where it's safe and gains interest. The interest amount is paid to the service provider and the principal amount is given back to the user.
How we built it
We used React.js for front end development and Solidity to write the smart contracts. TRON, Ethereum, and Polygon are the blockchains of implementation using Compound DAO and Aave protocols.
We have also used Remix IDE & Hardhat.
Challenges we ran into
One of the major problems we faced were the staking of tokens at platforms such as Aave and Compound DAO.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really glad the idea has come to life and is in its initial stages of conception. Stakescriptions could be a DeFi platform that creates a win–win for DeFi protocols, OTT/SaaS platforms & consumers
What we learned
This project has been a journey of experiences and learning. We learned more about crafting specific smart contracts, Tron Web, Tron Link, and features like Tron Scan.
We also came to know about the different pooling sites such as Compound DAO and AAVE.
What's next for Stakescriptions
Stakescriptions is looking forward to providing subscriptions not just for episodic shows, but live TV and Movies. Maybe even a place where the users can hold up a joint account of staked tokens and share the service.
