Inspiration
Live events often suffer from timing issues, miscommunication, and lack of visual cues. We wanted to build a tool that ensures everyone is on the same clock—literally.
What it does
StageScreen.io is a web-based timing system for live events. It displays customizable countdowns, schedules, and cues in real-time, accessible to all participants via any device.
How we built it
We used TypeScript and React for the frontend, Supabase for real-time data syncing and user auth, and deployed the app on a scalable cloud infrastructure.
Challenges we ran into
Fine-tuning real-time synchronization across multiple clients and devices was a major technical hurdle. Designing a simple UI for both operators and viewers also required careful iteration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We achieved seamless real-time sync with minimal latency and built an intuitive interface that's production-ready for real event use. Early testers gave excellent feedback on reliability and UX.
What we learned
We deepened our expertise in Supabase's real-time features and learned how critical UX simplicity is in high-pressure, live environments.
What's next for stagescreen.io
We plan to add role-based access, schedule automation, mobile apps, and deeper integration with event tools like OBS, Zoom, and hardware controllers.
