Inspiration
This project was inspired by webgames I used to play as a kid which had simple premises but offered a lot of variety with the mechanics it had
What it does
It's built to challenge and entertain
How we built it
It was built in Godot 4.3, and implements a node-based system to manage all the objects The sprites were created using aesprite and were created during the hackathon
Challenges we ran into
Many ideas had to be cut due to time, but it leaves a lot of room to add even more mechanics and clean up the game
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of the level system and the way the rats stack I'm also happy with the assets I designed and created
What we learned
I learned how to use Godot efficiently and how to optimize my time and planning better for my next hackathon
What's next for Stackrats
Stackrats has a bright future of updates and refining Starting with a better UI and title screen I want to make Stackrats bigger as I implement more levels and introduce more engaging puzzles/ mechanics
