About the Project:
What inspired you:
StaBit was born from a simple observation: swapping assets between the foundational world of Bitcoin and the fast-growing Starknet ecosystem is often fragmented, intimidating, and opaque. We were inspired to build a platform that abstracts away the complexity, providing a single, elegant interface where users can trade with clarity and confidence. Our goal was to create more than just a tool; we wanted to build a bridge of trust between two powerful blockchain communities.
What you learned:
This hackathon was an incredible learning journey. We dove deep into the nuances of blockchain interoperability, realizing that a truly seamless user experience depends on robust back-end integrations and real-time data handling. We learned how to manage state effectively in a decentralized application, especially when dealing with multiple wallet connections (MetaMask, Argent, Braavos). Most importantly, this project reinforced our belief that the future of DeFi lies in simplifying complexity through thoughtful design.
How you built it:
StaBit is built on a modern, high-performance tech stack designed for an exceptional user experience.
The frontend is crafted with React and TypeScript, powered by Vite for lightning-fast development and bundling.
For the user interface, we used shadcn-ui and Tailwind CSS to create a clean, professional, and fully responsive design.
To handle the complex logic of cross-chain swaps, we integrated powerful APIs from Atomiq and Xverse, allowing us to focus on building a stellar frontend experience.
Global state management, especially for wallet connections, is handled cleanly using React Context.
Challenges you faced:
Our biggest challenge was creating a unified and fluid user experience while orchestrating multiple asynchronous operations. Specifically:
Real-Time Data Synchronization: Ensuring that the exchange rates, network fees, and transaction statuses were always live and accurate required careful state management.
Multi-Wallet Integration: Building a single "Connect" button that elegantly handles both EVM (MetaMask) and Starknet-native wallets (Argent/Braavos) was a complex UX and technical puzzle.
Error Handling: In DeFi, trust is everything. We dedicated significant effort to implementing comprehensive error handling and clear user feedback for every possible failure point, from a rejected transaction to network congestion.
We are proud to have overcome these challenges to deliver a platform that is not only functional but also reliable and user-friendly.
