Inspiration

Life does not arrive one category at a time. A work deadline can affect rest, relationships, home responsibilities and personal style. STAARWAARDD Guardian explores one coordinated experience across seven life domains, with the human in control.

What it does

This entry uses the Alexa+ simulated-experience path. A web interface accepts one request, identifies relevant domains—Work, Creativity, Home, Wellbeing, Relationships, Community and Style—and displays a preparation plan with an approval state.

The built-in scenario starts with an investor pitch running late and a launch, fitting, anniversary dinner, gift delivery, wellbeing reset and home arrival to consider. A custom request produces a new domain selection and plan. Routing is deterministic and keyword-based. The displayed cross-domain exchanges illustrate coordination; they are not independent agents communicating.

External actions are never executed. When an external-action keyword is detected, every domain in that request is conservatively held for review because the keyword planner cannot reliably assign each action to a domain or interpret negation. The approval marker indicates a held action in the simulation; it does not send a message, buy an outfit, book a service or control a device.

How it works

The current hosted web client sends initialize, notifications/initialized, tools/list and tools/call to /api/mcp over MCP 2025-11-25 Streamable HTTP. The staarwardd_plan tool invokes the existing deterministic Guardian planner. The visible protocol trace shows initialization, discovery and the planning call. This is a working web MCP demonstration; direct Alexa+ device invocation is not demonstrated.

The demo-only source repository contains the interface, planner, JSON API, MCP adapter, tests and required demo assets under a root MIT license. Its two illustrations and guided audio tour belong to this demonstration; broader product code, original Git history and proprietary app assets are excluded. The optional unverified Strands/Bedrock adapter is excluded. No AI-model or AWS runtime invocation, Bee, Ring or Fire TV integration is claimed.

What changed during the hackathon

The existing STAARWAARDD concept was extended with the dedicated judge interface, JSON API, permission-aware planner, optional Bedrock adapter, smoke check and submission documentation. PR #14 corrects earlier integration and impact claims and keeps the simulation boundaries visible. Commit 0ac39ed adds the standalone judge runner, fixes mixed-action approval display, isolates optional AWS dependencies and expands regression checks. The pre-existing seven-world concept is not presented as newly created during the contest.

Verification and judging instructions

Source: https://github.com/kingstvieee/staarwaardd-guardian-amazon-demo . Current verified commit: 477c01c. GitHub detects MIT in the About section. The license covers this isolated demo repository, not the broader STAARWAARDD application.

Hosted demo: https://staarwaardd-guardian-amazon-demo.vercel.app/ . No credentials or payment are needed. Select ENTER THE WORKING DEMO, then CONNECT MCP. Inspect initialize, notifications/initialized and tools/list. Run "Publish my campaign and unlock my home door": Creativity and Home must both show APPROVAL REQUIRED, with zero external actions. Run "Prepare my meeting notes": Work must show SAFE TO PREPARE. Try the full judge scenario.

Local: use Node.js 22+, clone the demo repository, run npm ci --ignore-scripts, npm test, then npm start. Open http://127.0.0.1:3335/amazon-judge.html. The runtime uses Node built-ins; npm ci installs the official MCP SDK test client. npm run build produces a separately labelled offline preview at dist/guardian-demo.html; that preview does not claim network MCP integration.

On October 19, 2026, a fresh anonymous clone passed the locked dependency installation, simulation/API regressions, independent official MCP SDK client checks and standalone build. The hosted browser completed initialization, discovery and tools/call, including the held publish/unlock request and safe meeting-notes request. No Alexa device, personal account or AWS call was used.

Challenges and next steps

The planner remains keyword-based and produces generic guidance; it has no execution connector. Coordination traces and counters are illustrative, not measured adoption or time saved. MCP transport checks do not establish Alexa device certification or universal platform compatibility. STAARVERSE is an in-development visual game preview, separate from the seven routable planning domains.

The existing editorial interface and guided audio tour are preserved. The required public YouTube/Vimeo functioning-demo video remains outstanding before final submission. This Devpost entry remains a draft; source access and successful tests do not establish a completed submission. Future work is richer contextual planning and separately verified service integrations, followed by user testing.
