Inspiration
Suika Game took the world by storm. We thought: what if we brought that satisfying fruit-merging magic to AR on Snapchat?
What it does
Drop fruits. Match pairs. Watch them squish into bigger fruits. Chase your high score while wearing a fun fruit hat on your face. Simple, addictive, delightful.
How we built it
Lens Studio + JavaScript. Physics-based gameplay with custom collision detection. Face Generator for the AR effect. Kiro AI as our coding copilot throughout development.
Challenges we ran into
2D physics in a 3D engine. Fruits drifting sideways. Game over triggering too early. Getting the "squish" feel just right. Each bug taught us something new.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Smooth merge animations. Satisfying physics. A working danger zone system. Face cam preview showing your fruit-hat selfie. All under 8MB for Snapchat.
What we learned
AR game dev is tricky but rewarding. Physics tuning is an art. Lens Studio's API has depth. AI-assisted coding accelerates everything.
What's next for Squish!
Multiplayer battles. More fruit types. Seasonal themes. Leaderboards with friends. World domination, one squish at a time. 🍒🍇🍉
