Inspiration
We we're inspired by scrapbooks made by friends and we wanted to digitize it where we could create a digital timeline of events and see how our relationships are "linked"
What it does
Users will input details about themselves, events with pictures they have to gone that hold significance. From there our system will take that data and display it in a timeline view and mine map view, assembling together how things are linked mutually, to show off how "goals" your squad is!
How we built it
We are using a standard MERN tech-stack and utilizing the React library react-graph-vis to make the timelines and graph connections
Challenges we ran into
- Exhaustion, one of our members got stomach sick and we started getting tired.
- Trying to optimize the vis.js library to not be super slow
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Coming up with an idea and being passionate with the idea mutually
What we learned
One of our members has never done a MERN tech stack before so he learned a lot, we also learned react-graph-vis from 0 to make it happen.
What's next for SquadGoals
We'd love to implement and polish more of the functionality that we wanted too finish but didn't have the time too. Like adding a timeline, adding commenting, Meta data reading, third party photo syncing, and more.
