Inspiration
When I was new to this campus, I was confused as to where to go to find necessities. The first day was spent looking for the minimart, I needed pens for classes the next day.
Me and my team mates got together to make meshnav, a hyper local navigation app that can be deployed in any locality
What it does
Uses various graphing algorithms to get a user from one point to another. All the locations are nodes on the graph, hence providing a really efficient and accurate hyper local system for navigation. Also, it features an admin panel so that maps can be managed locally.
How we built it
Built using NextJS, NextUI, Django, networkX, tailwindCSS and many other supporting libraries
Challenges we ran into
Accessing the device sensors to provide an accurate compass on a website to avoid making another apk for the user to download.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Accessing the device sensors to get a compass heading
- Making the compass snap onto the next waypoint as we travelled along.
- Creating the backend path algorithms.
What we learned
We lost hope three separate times across the hackathon, but we kept pushing on.
What's next for spue gang
Deploying this campus wide and potentially spreading to other campuses with great potential for IOT and NFC tech.
