"Know Before You Go" Sprout plots the real-time subway feeds for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 trains in Manhattan.
This can be handy if you need a spot-check of how the system is running. And maybe it's late at night and you prefer to wait at street level instead of on the platform. If you have a choice of trains to take, this program could help you decide.
It's called Sprout because the plot sorta looks like Brussel Sprouts on the stalk.
It grabs a real-time feed, stores some history, and plots the trains. If you select a station you can see when the trains are arriving.
To get a sense of how trains are running in general, touch the clock and the program replays the last few minutes up-tempo.
