Inspiration
I was sitting with 50 things on my mind and had no idea where to start. Not a productivity problem. An overwhelm problem. Every app I tried gave me a blank page and wished me luck. I wanted something that would just take my chaos and tell me what to do. So I built it.
What it does
Sprouted lets you dump everything in your head into Seed AI, your goals, worries, half baked ideas, everything. Seed AI reads it, understands what matters most, and builds you a gamified journey map. Each region on the map is a phase of your goal. Complete tasks, your character moves forward. Reach the final region and unlock a mystery reward.
How we built it
React and Tailwind for the frontend, Groq API powering Seed AI, Supabase for the database, Clerk for auth, deployed on Vercel. Built the entire thing in under 48 hours. Landing page, AI integration, map UI, auth, everything.
Challenges we ran into
Getting Seed AI to consistently return structured output that mapped cleanly into the journey regions was the hardest part. The map UI also took way longer than expected. Making it feel like a real game world rather than a list of cards required a lot of iteration and scrapping things that looked cheap.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The map reveal moment. When Seed AI finishes and the journey map appears for the first time with region names, landscape art, and a personal story written around your character it genuinely feels like magic. That was the moment we knew it worked.
What we learned
How fast you can ship when you stop overthinking. Also that the hardest part of any productivity tool is not the features. It is making someone feel something when they use it. People do not finish goals because of better task management. They finish because they are emotionally invested.
What's next for Sprouted
Social maps where friends can see your journey and compete on the same goals. A cosmetic store for character skins and map themes. And the mystery reward reveal which we are still not telling anyone about.
