Inspiration

I can still remember the days when getting stuck on a homework meant trawling through a textbook or finding my teacher on their lunch break to shed some light on the problem. This process wasn't easy. At times it was incredibly frustrating and slow. But it was through this struggle that real, thorough learning happened. When AI came along, how we learnt was never the same again. Any solution was only ever one chat away. And learning suffered, dramatically. Research by Oxford University Press found that 80% of students rely on AI for schoolwork and 62% say it's making them worse at learning. AI's erosion on critical thought is both dangerous and preventable. But AI tools are here to stay; the question isn’t whether students will use it, the question is how. So we built Sprout - your personal AI tutor which focuses on building understanding, not just giving you the answer.

What it does

Sprout builds personalised learning pathways on any topic. Interested in fauna from darkest Peru? Or perhaps you are cramming for a linear algebra exam. Describe the topic, upload your notes, and watch Sprout's multi-agents autonomously generate a three-dimensional learning network which adapts to you. Gone are the days of scrolling through endless AI chat logs. With Sprout you can explore your own 3D knowledge network using natural hand movements (not keyboard or mouse) and navigate ideas as if you are exploring your own mind. Dive into a concept node to start learning. Sprout's teaching follows one core methodology: the learner should reach the answer themselves, Sprout is just there to show them the path. With quiz, code, text and drawing based learning blocks, Sprout's multi-media approach tests our learners holistically. With an integrated support chat and voice tutor powered by ElevenLabs, Sprout guides learners to reach the answer themselves.

Challenges we ran into

The scope for this project is huge, so choosing which features to implement in just 24 hours for a 2 minute demo was incredibly challenging. We are excited to continue building many of these revolutionary features, including cards to generate slides and mind-maps to support your learning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The multi-agent system which work in parallel to autonomously adapts the user's 3-dimensional knowledge network according to their strengths and weaknesses. This was our primary goal at the start of the project, so we are incredibly proud to haver successfully integrated this agentic solution seamlessly with our other exciting features.

How to build complex multi-agent systems with a user focus, and integrate these with 3-dimensional graph renders with hands-free control.

With the global EdTech market predicted to reach $589 billion by 2034, Sprout looks to establish itself as the leading AI learning tool of the future. Not AI hype, but structured learning autonomously adapting to your personal progress. Sprout has two core revenue streams: B2C (direct monthly subscription for individual learners) and B2B (access for universities, schools and employers).
