Sprout - Your Sustainable Gardening Assistant

Inspiration 💡

The inspiration for Sprout sprouted from our passion for sustainable living and gardening. We wanted to create a digital gardening companion that not only helps users select the right plants for their location but also guides them on eco-friendly cultivation practices. Our goal was to empower individuals to contribute to a more sustainable world through gardening.

What We Learned 🌱

Throughout the project journey, we learned valuable lessons about the intersection of technology and sustainability. We delved into AI-powered plant recommendations and the importance of providing real-time weather and soil data to users. We also gained insights into user experience design for mobile apps, ensuring a seamless and intuitive interface.

How We Built It 🛠️

Tech Stack: We harnessed the power of React Native for the front-end, integrating Expo for location services. We relied on APIs to get data for plant recommendations.
User-Centric Design: We prioritized user needs, ensuring a clean and minimalist design. We conducted user testing and incorporated feedback for an improved user experience.
Data Integration: We integrated real-time weather and soil data, leveraging APIs to provide users with precise gardening insights.
Sustainability Focus: Our project aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to responsible consumption, life on land, and sustainable communities.
