Inspiration my inspiration came from the Taiwanese government and the way they handled the outbreak, using a combination of experiences and pragmatism to fight the spreading of the coronavirus.

What it does: a sprinkler system to sanitize public spaces using isopropanol

How I built it: this idea was premised on two conceptions, the fundamental, which is social cohesion and how that works and why it is under pressure because of Corona. In order to contribute to the solution I had to think out of box, using interdisciplinary methods to combine social sciences, chemistry and industrial design.

Challenges I ran into: myriad. I have no idea how it will work in practice. How long does the virus survive? Will said sprinkler system be effective? And how? Who will build the prototype and will my expectation that it will help end lockdown come true?

Accomplishments that I'm proud of: that I was able to compete. That I used my skills and my creativity and my observations to design this system.

What I learned: that I am never too old to learn.......and be part of something great

What's next for SPRINKLERS WITH ISOPROPANOL “ALL WE WANT IS NORMALCY...building a prototype and getting in touch with the Taiwanese, Shell and the people from EXXFIRE to get things started. Indeed, the urgency is great to find a modus to bring us back to normalcy ( whatever that may be)
