Inspiration

To use our abilities to make people around the world feel better about themselves

What it does

Our program asks what would be the one bad quality that someone feels about themselves (for example, height). It then specifically targets which category do they belong in (for example, height - short or height - tall). Next, the computer will generate a compliment to make them feel better about themselves in that aspect. It will then ask them to make a compliment for those people who would feel the same. The next code is designed to store the comments and to give those comments to people who chose the same category. Finally, it will ask them if they want to close the program or not.

How we built it

We built it with the skills that we learned in school by using bluejay.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges we encountered were how would we give a comment randomly so that the code will give a different comment for every time. We solved the problem by asking the user (who would play this program) to pick a number from 0 to the number of comments in the category. We took that number to give the comment in that position.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The accomplishments that we're proud of are that we came up with an idea that can spread happiness and positivity around the world for the people who have low self-esteem, that we could apply our skills learned from the school (which we thought we will never get to apply them), and that we took a step forward toward a better, happier world.

What we learned

We learned that coding is hard when we actually get to apply it.

What's next for Spreading Happiness

Make a profile based on age, gender, and country so that the program would give the answers that are closest to the profile of the person who ran the program. Also, find a way to store the comments which are deleted after the program is closed so that the program will contain a huge database of compliments.
