Inspiration

We were inspired by creators who use unique art mediums and their efforts to share their creations with the world.

What it does

SpottID (pronounced 'spotted') is a social media and e-commerce hybrid platform built using ReactJS whose targeted audience consists of creators who use art mediums that typically lack visibility. Mediums ranging from short films and poetry to sculptures will be given a platform to potentially experience viral growth, and the artists will have the option to manage their commissions, products, and social media promotion from one platform.

How we built it

SpottID is built using ReactJS and extensive planning and diagramming.

Challenges we ran into

Time constraints discouraged us from spending too much time on the back-end portion for our website, and we also had to make compromises when it came to the design of the complex components we envisioned for this platform.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re quite happy with our front-end designs and visuals! We feel that we made great progress considering our lack of experience with web development and front-end design.

What we learned

We learned how useful planning and diagramming is, even before implementing features that seem like they might be simple. We also learned the basics of front-end design and ReactJS.
