Inspiration
We are first timers to software development. Thought it would be fun to try to turn a small idea we've talked about into something functional and pleasant to use.
What it does
By entering your destination, you will be shown surrounding parking lots which have vacant spaces. The app will provide a link to pay for parking as well as present a link to get directions from Google Maps.
How we built it
Ethan provided a back-end by building a database driven Flask web app. It works with the third party library pygeocoder to determine the coordinates of inputed addresses. Danny and Oday worked on marketing and filming and editing a video about the app.
Challenges we ran into
Using a new API to communicate with Google. Figuring out how to narrow the scope to make a functional app in optimal time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Putting together an awesome video! We are proud to have gotten such a complex web app working in such a short period of time. We're tired though!
What we learned
So much, but more then anything the vaule of a good team!
What's next for spot
We will extend the app to add functionality like JSON endpoints, message flashing,
