SpotScope

Inspiration

Managing finding a parking space can often be a very daunting and distracting process for drivers. This is where drivers have SpotScope to fall back on for not only their GPS needs but their need to easily find parking spaces hassle-free!

What it does

Once you arrive at your destination, Spot-Scope detects it with GPS technology and automatically shows you a map of the parking lot with what spaces are available and which spaces are occupied.

-SpotScope let's users know how many spaces are available before they navigate to their destination which helps them not waste their time and gas.

Once a user pulls into a parking spot, Spot-Scope will automatically check them in letting others know the space is occupied.
SpotScope uses the same technology to auto-checkout and lets others know the space is now available.
Spot Scope lets users know how much they saved in gas and how many minutes they’ve saved by using the SpotScope mobile application!

How we built it

SpotScope was built in Figma with multiple components and a design system for easy access.

Challenges we ran into

I was a team of two and unfortunately my teammate had an emergency and had to drop out of the hackathon so that is why my project is not fully functional in the backend/coded.
I had trouble with making the animations work properly but with a little bit of tweaking, they are working seamlessly now.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-I am very proud that I preserved even though I thought that I needed this project to be fully functional and coded.

I am proud that I was able to get in my project before the deadline and get my concept out in the world!
I am proud of reaching out to my network to see if anyone could help code on such short notice. Even though everyone was busy, I am glad that I put myself out there for a commitment that I made this weekend/hackathon.

What we learned

Emergencies do happen and things do not always go as planned and you just have to do the best you can and give it your all.
There is no giving up, when you commit to something you stick with it.
I learned that I am capable of brainstorming, creating and designing a project in such a short period of time.
