Inspiration
Sometimes it's best not to gatekeep. We believe it's best to share good things with the world, so we built Spotr to share the best parts in our community to visit.
What it does
Spotr allows users to post and view niche spots to visit within the community. Whether it be hiking trails, lookout spots, or cool areas to visit, Spotr allows you to be more connected with your environment.
How we built it
We used Firebase for the backend to store user data and places, a Google Maps API to build an interactive map, and a React-based frontend to handle client side actions.
Challenges we ran into
Learning the capabilities of new tools like Firebase and Google Maps API. ALSO A TWO MAN TEAM
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making a fully functional end to end project.
What we learned
Learning new things is hard
What's next for Spotr
Hopefully we get to integrate an LLM like Gemini to help recommend user travel itineraries.
