🛠️ The Story Behind SpotLocal

🚴 Inspiration

While on a bike ride with friends, my bike suddenly broke down. I searched Google for a nearby service center—but found nothing useful. That moment sparked the idea for SpotLocal.

💡 What It Does

SpotLocal helps users discover nearby small and medium-sized businesses by category—such as clinics, service centers, blood banks, mosques, markets, and more.
Users can:

• Browse businesses by category
• View details (ratings, contact info, open hours, etc.)
• See exact location on the map
• Access content in their local language (localization)

🧱 How I Built It

The idea was first shaped into prompts and developed step by step using AI tools like Bolt.
Most of the app was built with AI assistance, with small tweaks and manual fixes done by myself.

🧩 Challenges I Ran Into

• AI occasionally messed things up, requiring me to revert to previous versions.
• Some parts needed manual coding and debugging—especially UI polishing and logic edge cases.

🏆 Accomplishments I'm Proud Of

• The basic MVP is complete.
• Core features are functional and testable.
• It's ready for user feedback to validate key assumptions.

📚 What I Learned

• AI can help build surprisingly complex apps if done step by step.
• However, human review and occasional manual coding are still essential.
• Iteration and feedback matter more than perfection early on.

• Add robust search and filtering functionality
• Generate unique QR codes for every registered business
• Improve UI/UX for better mobile experience
• Add partner dashboard for business owners
