Inspiration
Music is a big part of our lives, and for us, Spotify is the go-to service to discover, curate, and listen to music. We were inspired by a trend where people create playlists whose song titles spell out messages.
What it does
Takes in an inputted phrase and outputs a playlist whose songs spell out this phrase.
How we built it
We used the Spotify API, the Spotipy library, Flask, and other tools to create our website.
Challenges we ran into
Because we are making so many API calls, our program is pretty slow for larger or more complicated inputs. We tried to make some optimizations, but this could definitely be improved.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting the site up and running is something that we were very proud of! We have never created a live website and so learning the new skill of transitioning from local programs to actual websites is something we gained.
