Inspiration
connecting things and the annoyance of when a music artist you like is doing a concert nearby and you have no-one to go with to watch them and you don't want to go by yourself.
What it does
connects you with people with similar music tastes and also shows you concerts in the area which allows you to meet new people and make connections you would not have otherwise.
How we built it
Started off by working with the Spotify API and figuring out how to get data for a user, simultaneously we also created the swiping feature which was the core frontend feature then we moved onto allowing signups and databases to store profiles and also working with the Ticketmaster API to get nearby concerts which can be displayed on the profile
Challenges we ran into.
We faced several issues integrating components, especially getting the database, APIs, and frontend to communicate seamlessly. Each feature worked well independently, but merging them into a single system took persistence.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re especially proud of the swiping feature, which brings a familiar and interactive way to discover new music connections.
What we learned
a lot of JS and html and API usage and the effects of sleep deprivation on productivity
What's next for Concert Buddy
hopefully get it fully working and fully integrating all features we initially set out to achieve.
