Inspiration
We wanted to build something applicable, fun, and easy for everyone to use.
What it does
The bot will tweet the top 5 songs on Spotify of that day at 12pm.
How we built it
We collaborated in VS Code with the Live Share Feature. Using OOP best practices, we created a modular, well-documented, and interfaceable bot to tweet out the top 5 songs of that day on Spotify.
Challenges we ran into
VS Code caused some glitches while we collaborated, but we were able to fix any issues it caused with our code. The twitter API locked us out for making too many requests in a short period of time, and we had to change our code to allow for offline testing to go around this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to produce the exact idea that we had planned initially, which we’re really proud of since this is our first ever hackathon as well! We also planned our time well and built our hack successfully within the deadline.
What we learned
We learned how to use and apply an API. We learned the importance of backing up our code in case something goes wrong.
What's next for Spotify Daily Charts Twitter Bot
We are considering putting out a greater variety of tweets, such as songs from different charts.
