SpotiDrive

Inspiration

As lovers of music, we wanted to find a way to bring it into our solution when coming up with a project for Toyota.

What it does

SpotiDrive allows the user to input their destination on a road trip, and it will utilize Spotify's machine learning algorithms to generate a playlist tailored to their preferences that lasts just as long as your road trip.

How we built it

We split work between the two of us, where Riley worked on the front-end using the Django framework, and Daniel worked on the back-end using the Spotify and MapQuest APIs.

Challenges we ran into

We had conflicting code that would break when we tried to combine our work. This led us to better understand each other's contributions so we could come up with solutions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to present a full-stack project that works as we intended without compromises. Learning and implementing new technologies in such a short time has pushed us out of our comfort zone.

What we learned

We learned how to apply software engineering lifecycle principals to develop a full-stack project as a team. Working with and combining multiple APIs together was new to us, and we learned how to use Django to create the front-end for our application.
