SpotiCord Bot

Inspiration

We all love music, so we wanted to find a way to listen to our favorite genres of music together on Discord.

What it does

SpotiCord is a discord bot that allows users to choose which genre of music they want to hear in the discord voice channel. The discord bot takes that response and finds the most popular playlist by utilizing the Spotify API and the Spotipy python library relating to that genre to shuffle play in the server.

How we built it

We utilized Python, Spotify API, Spotipy, Discord.py, VS Code, GitHub, and Discord

Challenges we ran into

We did not have enough time to figure out how to play the music from the bot on Discord.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a working bot!!! :D

What we learned

We learned how to implement API calls and how to build a Discord bot. We also learned how to work together by utilizing GitHub efficiently.

What's next for SpotiCord Bot

Major updates for API calls and new features.
