Inspiration
Spot. was inspired by the growing wave of medical misinformation on social media and AI tools. From viral TikTok health hacks to misleading chat responses, we saw how quickly people can be misled, especially individuals with limited access to healthcare. We wanted to build a tool that makes fact-checking health claims as simple as sharing sources via external apps.
What it does
Spot. is an AI-powered fact-checking assistant for medical information. Users can paste or share a link right on the social media app they are on and Spot will scan and match with credible sources online. Through that, they generate a credibility meter, with critical reasons and similar videos that align or contrast with the video.

Challenges we ran into
Finding a niche area to head into, but not too niche that it feels redundant.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Able to finish interactive features in Figma and found a problem area that is highly in demand.
What we learned
The problem area is very crucial to spend a lot of your time in.
What's next for Spot.
Language options, more fields to verify, and make it expand to a google extension for Laptops.
