Inspiration

The inspiration behind Spot was to create a platform that fosters local businesses by connecting them with the local community, ultimately helping to boost the local economy.

What it does

Spot is an e-commerce search engine that uses Square's Catalog API and Inventory API to connect local consumers with local businesses. It also integrates QR code generation for tracking and analytics.

How we built it

Spot was built using a combination of technologies, including nodejs for backend development, React for the frontend, and integration with Square's APIs for catalog & inventory management. Geolocation features were implemented to ensure accurate local search results.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges faced during the development of Spot included integrating the various APIs seamlessly, ensuring accurate geolocation features, and developing an effective analytics system for QR code tracking.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of creating a platform that not only benefits local consumers by helping them find nearby businesses but also supports local businesses by providing them with a platform to reach their local community effectively.
