Inspiration

There was a parent on my team that I coach that thought his kid should be playing more minutes than he was so I wanted to build an app to let him know how his son was actually performing.

What it does

SportsCloud is an app that equips high school, AAU, and rec league programs with a simple way to track game stats and scores in real-time. The app eliminates the annoying pen and paper process of entering team stats into excel and also allows parents to follow games happening live. It also allows scouts and college coaches to see on aggregate the performance of their prospects in high school.

How we built it

We built this app from scratch using Swift and designing our own UI in Sketch.

Challenges we ran into

Usually when we solve one issue it breaks something else.. but that's the nature of coding. I'm proud of my team and what we've been able to accomplish.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to finally allow people to track the scores for multiple sports... not just basketball. Looking forward to allowing people to track stats from other sports too.

What we learned

Building an app is really hard. However, there's no better feeling than seeing your code compile and seeing that the project functions exactly as you expect it to.
