Inspiration

Our inspiration came from having to write down our statistics for school events/sports on paper, and losing them due to unfortunate circumstances. There was no website to help keep everything organized in one spot for easy access.

What it does

Our website helps you to keep track of your school extracurricular activities. The home page has an event countdown where you can write the date of an event and it counts down to that date. This helps you prepare for upcoming events and manage your time. The different sports pages also have important statistics that you can keep track of and write any notes/comments that can later be used by you to analyze. There is also a custom page to add statistics to anything sport/event that is already not listed. There is also a schedule where you can add any sports/events to a schedule.

Challenges we ran into

There were many challenges we ran into such as having the countdown work precisely and accurately with various time inputs. Making sure that the information of one page does not carry over and mess up a different page. Having different storages for different pages so that its not all clustered in 1 storage and interfere with each other, and having the data save after reloading, etc, etc. There were many things that we had to tackle such as these to make sure our website works properly, efficiently, and smoothly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of getting the countdown timer to work. This can be extremely useful for people as they plan their extracurricular activities. We’re also happy with adding the icons as it makes the website look more interesting.

What we learned

We learned a lot in this hackathon and are grateful to be able to participate in it. We learned how to implement countdown timers, use icons in our navbar, make tables and save their values in local storage.
