Inspiration

Our team was inspired to create a platform for sports enthusiasts to easily organize and participate in pick-up matches in their local area. We recognized that there was a need for a more efficient and inclusive platform for people to find and join such events in real-time.

What it does

Our mobile app allows users to post sports events to other users in their location to facilitate pick-up matches. The app includes features that cater to people of all abilities, making it a more inclusive platform for sports enthusiasts.

How we built it

To build the app, we used React Native for the frontend. We also planned to integrate Google Maps API to display event locations and use either CockroachDB or MongoDB Atlas to handle user authentication and storage.

Challenges we ran into

We faced several challenges throughout the development process, including integrating the location-based feature with the app, implementing a secure login system, and ensuring that the app functions properly and securely.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the fact that we were able to build a functional and visually appealing mobile app that caters to people of all abilities. Despite the challenges we faced, we were able to create a platform that enables sports enthusiasts to connect with each other and participate in pick-up matches in their local area.

What we learned

We learned a lot about building mobile apps and the challenges that come with it. We also learned about the importance of thorough testing to ensure that the app functions properly and securely. In addition, we gained valuable experience working with React Native, MongoDB, and other technologies.

What's next

In the future, we plan to continue working on this project and adding more features to make it an even more comprehensive platform for sports enthusiasts. We also hope to partner with local sports organizations and teams to promote the app and increase its reach.
