Inspiration
The inspiration was that our partner Monica struggles with Calculus derivatives and most apps that she used just tell her the right answer but don't show an explanation, and there's also many student that are in her same boat.
What it does
Our app quizzes our users on calc derivatives and can changed from easy to hard and allows the user to have control over how long they want to be quizzed for and its created to be ran locally with up to 20 players and allows the user to decide how long other can answer. It also does a little jumpscare animation with sound to keep study partners on their toes.
How we built it
We integrated AI to build a base code of how we wanted it to run on a single file and expanded it to have a set file structure. We use JavaScript and React as well as some html and CSS files.
Challenges we ran into
The challenges we ran into was often the AI when trying to add on to the project would rewrite the entire project. Another problem was technical, we struggled a lot with using GitHub repositories and coding as a group on one project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have coded on languages we haven't used before and getting over the hurdle of repositories as well as creating an app.
What we learned.
We learned we need to familiarize ourselves more with other tech for collaborative projects and how to prompt AI better and work through hurdles as a team.
What's next for Spooky Calc Calculator.
We hope to continue working on it to truly function as we envision and teach in more depth and in harder level with more original graphics.
