Inspiration
Watching other developers dive into hackathons, pushing boundaries, and gaining tons of experience has been pure inspiration. Seeing them tackle challenges head-on, learn fast, and walk away with new skills (and stories!) shows just how valuable these events can be. It’s not just about coding—it's about growth, creativity, and maybe a bit of caffeine-fueled madness along the way!
What it does
This Halloween website brings the spooky season to life with a fun and interactive experience! It offers costume ideas complete with images and descriptions, a timeline of Halloween’s history filled with interesting facts, and background music you can toggle for an extra eerie vibe. It’s the perfect blend of Halloween history, costume inspiration, and interactive fun—all in one festive website!
How I built it
I built this project using the languages and tools I know best, combining HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to bring the Halloween spirit to life. I gathered inspiration from various websites, picking up design ideas and interactive elements along the way, while making sure to include every spooky detail for a complete Halloween experience!(Also used ChatGPT + youtube designs and pintrest designs)
Challenges I ran into
The main challenge I faced was figuring out what elements to add and where to place them for the best effect. Eventually, I realized that while the layout can be flexible, it’s most important that everything fits together in a way that makes sense and keeps the Halloween vibe strong throughout!
Accomplishments that I am proud of
What makes me most proud is that I completed this project from start to finish without losing motivation. I stayed committed to my vision, overcoming challenges along the way, and ultimately created a fun and engaging Halloween experience that I can share with others!
What I learned
Throughout this journey, I learned so much about designing a website, managing layouts, and bringing my creative ideas to life. The most valuable lesson was realizing that I can tackle challenges I once thought were impossible. For instance, creating the costume layout felt like a rollercoaster—both a hell and heaven—but ultimately, it was incredibly rewarding to see it come together!
What's next for SpookSite
Next for SpookSite is to enhance the user experience with even more interactive features! I plan to add user-generated content where visitors can share their own costume ideas and Halloween stories. Additionally, I'm looking to incorporate a section for Halloween-themed games and quizzes to keep the fun going. There’s always room for more spookiness, so stay tuned for updates and surprises!
