Inspiration

Pomodoros and working effectively during the pandemic/in college

What it does

A sterile online work environment showing your currently played Spotify songs and playlists, as well as a pomodoro timer keeping track of how long you've been working and how many pomodoro work intervals you've done.

How we built it

Overall, this was a react.js project with different APIs. We utilized Google Firebase for user authentication and then integrated SpotifyAPI to allow account linking to be able to grab information from a user's Spotify account. Finally, we followed a tutorial to make a Pomodoro timer.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating the api's and firebase into our site.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We worked with firebase which was somewhat complicated, and we got some experience working with API's. We were able to communicate within a team where everyone had different roles, and also collaborate in an effective manner.

What we learned

We learned that working APIs can be a bit challenging. Working as a team on one project and coordinating everything for the website was a new experience.

What's next for Spomodoro

We plan to polish Spomodoro and add the features we intended to from the beginning, such as a calendar, to-do list, and on-site Spotify playlist creation.
