Inspiration

Managing shared expenses during trips, hostel life, and group activities is often confusing and frustrating. Most people still rely on spreadsheets, screenshots, or outdated apps that lack a smooth collaborative experience.

We built SplitSphere to combine intelligent expense sharing with the polished feel of a modern fintech SaaS platform. Our goal was to create a collaborative finance experience that is simple, visually premium, and easy to use for students, travelers, roommates, and teams.

The project primarily fits under the Work & Productivity category while also supporting everyday financial organization and lifestyle management.

What it does

SplitSphere is a collaborative expense-sharing and smart settlement platform for both shared and personal finance management.

Users can:

  • Create shared expense groups
  • Add participants using usernames
  • Track expenses and split bills
  • Generate automatic settlement summaries
  • Join groups using QR codes or invite links
  • Track personal self-expenses
  • View analytics and spending summaries
  • Scan receipts to auto-fill expense data

The platform automatically calculates balances and minimizes transactions so users instantly know who owes whom.

How we built it

SplitSphere was built using:

The UI was inspired by modern fintech and SaaS products like Stripe, Linear, and Ramp. We focused heavily on responsiveness, typography, visual hierarchy, animations, and overall product polish.

Used for branding inspiration, landing page concepts, and improving the visual identity of the product.

How MeDo helped us

MeDo helped transform SplitSphere from a simple expense tracker into a polished fintech-inspired SaaS product. It also enabled fast iteration, plugin integration, and rapid UI experimentation without spending excessive time on repetitive frontend implementation.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was balancing functionality with simplicity. Managing settlements, collaborative workflows, multiple participants, and responsive UI states added significant complexity.

Another major challenge was creating a premium user experience while keeping the interface lightweight and intuitive. We spent significant effort refining layouts, motion design, card systems, responsiveness, and overall visual polish.
