Inspiration

When planning more than often you are in a situation when you have to create multiple stories from one. One ends up making notes of those stories and then post planning someone has to make the effort to create those stories by referring to the existing notes.

Solution

SplitMe extension: SplitMe provides an easier way to create multiple stories from the description of one. User can specify [SplitMe] followed by list of stories titles in the current one and on Save, SplitMe would create those stories and update the reference of those in the existing one, so that you always have view of those stories from one they originated from.

Learnings

Since this is the first time creating an extension for JIRA, I had a bit of learning curve with respect to using JIRA APIs.

• Extending it to other issue types
• Special 'SplitMe' button for convenience
• User interactions in case of negative scenarios
