Inspiration
Managing group expenses is always confusing. Whether it’s trips, rent, or outings, people struggle to track who paid and who owes money.
Most solutions feel messy or complicated, so we wanted to build something simple, clean, and easy to use.

SplitMate is a smart expense splitting app that helps groups manage shared expenses effortlessly.

How we built it
We built SplitMate using MeDo (no-code platform).
- Designed a modern dark-themed UI
- Created structured data for expenses and members
- Implemented real-time balance calculations
- Built reusable UI components
- Developed settlement logic
The focus was on simplicity, speed, and usability.
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was accurate balance calculation.
At one point, the dashboard showed incorrect values due to logic issues. We fixed this by correctly handling:
- Total paid amount
- Individual share
- Net balance
Maintaining consistency across screens was also challenging.
