Inspiration

No one likes waiting, especially when they're in need of urgent medical care. We were frustrated that in a city, some urgent care facilities make you wait for hours while others have virtually no foot traffic. We wanted an easy way for patients to find the closest facility where they would get medical care the fastest

What it does

Use the Density.io platform, Splint tracks the number of people waiting at urgent care centers in a city. Measuring inflow and outflow, Splint translates people count into waiting time. Patients use our iOS app to see wait times at facilities near them and pick the best option.

How I built it

Density.io sensor and platform. Django/SQL/Heroku for our backend. iOS for the front end.

Challenges I ran into

Getting Density to work properly. Accurately tracking number of people. Finding a reliable way to convert people count into wait time.
